AK Lawncare Inc.
Snow & Ice Management

AK Lawncare, Inc. is dedicated to offering first class winter services to all of our clients. We offer complete 24 hour snow removal and de-icing services.

Although Michigan snow is never predictable, we have the resources to get the job done right, and in a timely fashion. We have a variety of trucks and loaders to provide snow removal services. Types of properties that we service include banks, large and small retail outlets, HOA's, apartment complexes, industrial warehouses, churches and offices. We also have sidewalk crews that are available for extensive sidewalk and driveway clearing.

As soon as we become aware of a weather system our crews are notified of the approaching system and we begin testing and maintaining our equipment for optimal performance. During a storm our office is available to take your calls 24 hours a day and all of our truck drivers are equipped with phones to ensure constant communication that we can relay to our customers. We also keep back-up vehicles and tools on hand to ensure that if a problem does occur we can still provide our customers with the reliable service they are accustom to.

Snow plowing begins at the designated accumulation level that your contract states. We offer multiple contracts that range from 1” to 4” depending on the needs of our customers. The most common contract begins at 2”. With this contract we will be measuring snow depths before the accumulation even gets to the plowing point. When accumulations do reach the plow point you can be sure that we will arrive on site immediately if we are not already there. The entire contracted area will be plowed completely and thoroughly after accumulation requirements are met and return services will be provided every 3 to 4 inches of accumulation.

If it is included in your contract, the areas designated as walkways to be cleared will be cleared by use of shovel, or snow blower either during or immediately after we perform our plowing service. In the event that a snow storm produces levels of snow over 6” walkways will be cleared after the storm is over and all accumulation has stopped unless the client is a business that is open during the storm.

Salting occurs when less than 2” of snow accumulates, after plowing and when icy conditions occur.

Products Used

ICE MELT

Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride

Melts Quicker and is less Corrosive. Green colored granules also provide a significantly greater source of spread control and less product waste. Green color is water based and will not stain.

MELTING PROPERTIES
Granules are coated with liquid Magnesium Chloride. This proprietary process delivers 3 times the melting performance of other brands at temperatures below 10 F. In fact, Ice Melt unique blend of melting agents will melt ice to -12 F.

SAFER ON CONCRETE, VEGETATION AND FLOORS
Ice Melt works quickly and more effectively than plain rock salt. It will also not harm your lawn and plants when used according to directions. Unlike other ice melters, Ice Melt will not leave a slippery residue on carpets or floors.

LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE

Calcium chloride's properties make it especially useful for effective winter road maintenance. Used alone, it's a powerful deicing agent. When coupled with rock salt, it's unsurpassed for keeping roads cleaner and safer in winter.

Benefits of Liquid Calcium Chloride:

  • Releases heat to help speed rock salt's melting capacity
  • Attracts moisture and dissolves quickly to activate rock salt's melting action
  • Begins brine formation immediately to break the pavement/ice bond
  • Delays future pavement/ice bonding
  • Melts snow and ice effectively down to 5° F
  • Reduces sodium pollution in wells, aquifers, and other environmentally sensitive areas.
